Frogtown Puppeteers to Perform July 15th

The Neighborhood House and Northeast Harbor Library serve as cornerstones of our community the whole year round. To celebrate that important relationship, the two organizations hold a joint celebration each summer, often with a performance of some kind. This year, we are thrilled to be welcoming the tremendously talented and wildly creative Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers for a performance of “The Legend of the Banana Kid.”

This FREE all ages show, co-sponsored by The Neighborhood House and Northeast Harbor Library, is set for Tuesday, July 15. The curtain goes up at 5:00pm in the Great Hall for this zany performance which runs approximately 45 minutes. Kids are encouraged to sit right down front on the floor and we’ll have chairs in the back of the Hall for adults. Due to the popularity of the Frogtown Puppeteers, we expect a large turnout. Arriving a little early is advised.

After the show, kids can look forward to meeting the performers (and their puppets).

Here’s a synopsis of “The Legend of the Banana Kid,” which is intended for kids 4+, but is still sure to leave even adult audience members in stitches:

Little Chucky heads to the Wild West to outwit outlaws in this cowboy adventure!  With a fistful of bananas, Chucky rides into town on his trusty goat for a showdown with Big Bad Bart and his gang of bandits.  (*please note that there are no guns in the show).

“The Legend of the Banana Kid” features 20 of our hand-crafted glove, mouth and rod puppets, and a slew of flying and twirling styrofoam bananas.
