Serving Up a Sense of Community
What started on a lark several years ago has turned into one of the most popular programs offered by The Neighborhood House. Dubbed the "Community Cafe," this series of luncheons offers community members of all ages the perfect excuse to gather, enjoy a meal, and share some laughs. Although the Cafe meets twice a month (1st + 3rd Thursdays) during what is considered the "slow season," it is not uncommon for over 100 guests to drop by for lunch.
The luncheons feature a choice of homemade main courses including a vegetarian option. There is also salad, bread generously provided by Old Dog Baking Company, and dessert. EVERYONE is invited for just a $7 suggested donation. Seniors are invited to have lunch "on the house.” For those who are unable to stick around, takeout containers are available as well. Each Cafe event is sponsored by an area business or organization.
Note: Menu subject to change. A vegetarian option is offered at each Cafe luncheon.
Special Start Times: Please note that two Cafe events will be held in the evening beginning at 5pm— the January 17th “Burger Bar” and the new “Pi Day” Pizza Pizza Party on March 14.
