Board of Directors Gathers for Annual Meeting

The Board of Directors and staff members gathered with hosts Gregg and Terri Scott for an enjoyable evening.

On Wednesday evening, August 16, members of The Neighborhood House’s volunteer Board of Directors along with several spouses and significant others gathered for their “annual meeting.” The group was generously hosted by Board member Gregg Scott and wife Terri for a quick business meeting followed by dinner and a chance to socialize.

Members of the Board meet throughout the year both as a full group and amongst their various committees, but since those meetings often occur at least partially online, this is one of the few chances the group gets to gather in person and enjoy each other’s company. It is amazing the connections and common experiences people discover when they’re able to sit and freely chat outside the confines of a typical meeting agenda, and ultimately this makes for a stronger Board.

The evening also served as an opportunity to offer many thanks to several Board members with expiring terms. The Neighborhood House and community as a whole has greatly benefited from the expertise and efforts of the following volunteer members:

  • Cyndi Schmidt

  • Bill Peelle

  • Liz Baird

  • Sara Dennis

  • Scott McFarland

Although they are technically wrapping up their terms on the Board, we know that none of them will be strangers and continue to support The Neighborhood House and its mission.
