FITNESS ROOM CLASSES
Vinyasa Yoga: located at the Union Church. Begins June 22.
A class that unites the breath with synchronized movement to warm, stretch, and strenghten the body and sooth the mind. Monica Davis will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This technique sometimes called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.
Hatha Yoga: located at the Union Church. Begins June 23.
Join Emily Wright in a class that unites sun energy with the moon energy, to produce balance and greater power within. This slower-paced stretching class combines simple breathing exercises and meditation. This is a good place to learn basic poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.
Yin Yoga: located at the Union Church. Begins June 21.
Join instructor Holly Duane for an hour plus of deep and gentle stretching that will leave you calm and invigorated. You don't need to know anything about Yoga. You don't need to be a flexible pretzel! We will use props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters and straps to support the body in poses that will target the connective tissues, energy pathways in your body, while enhancing joint mobility and overall flexibility. This practice is an opportunity to become more attuned to your body and mindful of your experience.
